The feeling is familiar and loving. Felt very heard and truly understood.
When I have one doctor I don't like to stray from that person. I can get nervous having to get to know a new doctor. But Monica was great. She was so helpful in helping me get my amniotic fluid levels up and helping me just feel more prepared for labor. She is just so sweet and kind.
I was highly satisfied because I presented my problems to her and she carefully explained to me what was going on and what we would do moving forward to help me and her get a better understand of what was causing my symptoms.
Monica and the staff are always very kind, welcoming, and caring. Choosing Monica was one of the best decisions I made, and I don't regret it for a second. She is incredibly sweet, patient, caring, and calm. After having a C-section, the thought of attempting a VBAC was terrifying, but Monica never stopped encouraging and reassuring me. Even though choosing a VBAC was my own decision, she stood by me every step of the way and gave me the confidence I needed. Because of her support, everything went so smoothly. I will always be grateful for her kindness and dedication.
Although the first check in clerk wasn't very nice, she didn't ruin the rest of the vibe and service there - I wasn't going to give her that power. I was sent to the wrong floor; the email I received told me to go to the wrong floor and her telling me to go to the 1st floor could have been presented nicer vs. making me feel like I'm crazy for even going to that floor despite what my email said. She could work on her customer service skills.
Monica Konrad was exceptionally great.
Employees were very nice and clear about everything. Monica and Jada were amazing!! Thank you for what you do!!
Monica was kind & wanted to help my problem. She suggested testing for infection. When that came back negative, she suggested a treatment to try. I appreciate Monica's concern to help me.
Monica really listen to me and has set a plan of action giving me hope that I can feel better. Monica really took the time to hear me and make me feel listened yto
She's amazing at making me feel comfortable and informed.
Monica Konrad is a Certified Nurse-Midwife with two decades of experience in women’s health and newborn care. A proud Texas native, she was inspired early in her career by the nurses, nurse-midwives, and physicians she worked alongside. Over time, she felt called to make a greater impact on women’s health, especially as maternal health outcomes continue to face growing challenges. That calling ultimately led her to pursue midwifery.
Monica began her nursing journey by earning an Associate Degree in Nursing from El Centro College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University. After spending several years working in Women’s Services—primarily in labor and delivery—she returned to Texas Tech to complete her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Nurse Midwifery. Her training and career have spanned both outpatient and hospital settings, with experience across the full spectrum of women’s health.
Her favorite part of midwifery? “Birthday parties!! Especially the very first ones!” Monica is especially proud of empowering women to trust themselves and feel confident in their healthcare decisions. She finds great fulfillment in supporting patients through labor and witnessing the strength they discover along the way.
Patients who choose Monica can expect a caring, personalized, and practical approach, paired with open communication and a little levity along the way. She values shared decision-making and meeting each patient where they are.
Outside of work, Monica enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, running, reading, watching movies, and enjoying good food (at the top of her list: tacos, brisket, and chocolate chip cookies). She is the proud mom of two daughters and a son, all teenagers, who keep life interesting and full. One item on her bucket list is visiting all of the U.S. National Parks (hopefully with all of her kids).
