I am a proud native Texan, mom of three mostly tame teenagers, Red Raider, and midwife. I grew up in the tiny town of Keene about 25 miles SW of Fort Worth. After high school, I dabbled in college for a couple of semesters before going to work in the corporate world. I come from a family of nurses (mom, sister, brother) and decided to follow in their footsteps going back to school and becoming a registered nurse in 2005. I started my nursing career in Houston in critical care but moved back home when I had my first child in the summer of 2006. When I went back to work, I accepted a position in Women’s Services at Texas Health Huguley Hospital in Burleson. I knew I had found where I was supposed to be, spending 18 happy years caring for moms and babies, primarily in labor and delivery. During that time, I always felt there was more I could do for women. Encouraged and inspired by nurse friends and a nurse-midwife mentor, I returned to school to earn first a bachelor’s in 2020 and then a master’s in 2024, becoming a Certified Nurse-Midwife. I am excited to care for women from menarche through menopause at Adriatica Women’s Health. In my non-work time, I love hiking, working out, running, eating good food (top of list: tacos, brisket, and chocolate chip cookies), listening to music, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.
