She then attended University of Texas Long School of Medicine in San Antonio (UTHSCSA) where she obtained her medical degree. She was then accepted to the University of Texas at Austin - Dell Med where she completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Upon completion of residency, she was awarded the Department of Women’s Health Humanism Award and Excellence in Medical Student Teaching Award. Her passion throughout residency involved patient advocacy, health equity, and working with diverse patient populations.
Dr. Machado speaks fluent Portuguese, Spanish, and English. She offers a wide variety of care for patients including management of pregnancy, preventative care, contraception, family planning, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, menopause, ovarian cysts, and also offers minimally invasive surgical procedures including hysteroscopy, colposcopy, myomectomy, cystectomy, and hysterectomy.
She is drawn to Houston for the diverse music and eclectic food scene, and to be near family. Currently she enjoys playing tennis and has picked up new hobbies like running, bouldering, and padel/pickle ball. She loves to read, travel, and explore the local farmer’s markets.
