I debated for quite some time about contacting the office about my experience . but after I received this survey and thought about it for almost a week.I decided it was important to respond honestly. Here is my office experience last week. Dr Swartz was polite, and did refer to items in my chart and said he read my file before he came in but as we were discussing my care when I mentioned getting my dexa study done as per insurance. he made an off hand comment about people following medical advice like sheep and referred to covid . Then during the exam told me I should get a colonoscopy instead of just using cologuard. Why should I just follow his advise after my gp said that was good enough. Would that not be being a sheep and doing what he says just because he is a medical professional? As an xray tech working during covid I was taken aback by such a comment. I love the office and have been coming to this practice for decades and I thought I would be confident in any Dr that replaced Dr Steinback. . I do not really wish to change practices at this stage in my life. I did think that those comments were unprofessional and unnecessary. As a medical provider meeting me for the first time you actually know very little about my history especially as it pertains to covid. I just wanted to make someone aware of this conversation so that he would not make such a comment to someone that may not be as polite about it. Thank you for listening.
