Craig Mechelke, DO, FACOOG

Dr. Mechelke moved to the East Valley in 1980 after completing one year of internship and four years of residency in obstetrics and gynecologic surgery at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington, Michigan. For the past 42 years he has delivered over 7000 babies in the East Valley and continues to enjoy a full OB-GYN practice that not only includes deliveries but a range of gynecologic surgery from abdominal, laparoscopic, and vaginal hysterectomies to vaginal reconstruction and urinary incontinence procedures. As the years have gone by, Dr Mechelke recognizes that women are living longer and want to stay as healthy as possible, mentally, physically, and hormonally. He has found that the use of bio-identical hormonal pellets can aid women with the hot flashes, insomnia, lack of energy and decreased sexual drive. Dr. Mechelke also has an interest in a condition called “interstitial cystitis” that affects thousands of women in the United States with symptoms of urinary urgency, frequency, pelvic pain with or without intercourse. Once a diagnosis is established it is simple to treat. He is proud to have offered the women of the East Valley over four decades of complete obstetrical and gynecologic care. Dr. Mechelke and his wife Teri live in Gilbert and have three children and five grand-children.
