We are pleased to announce that, in July 2012, our practice became part of Florida Woman Care. Our patients will benefit from our increased efficiency, adoption of electronic medical records and patient portals and the ability to offer office-based surgery.
Dr. DelCharco is now proud to offer his patients the ability to have minor surgical procedures performed in the office. Dr. DelCharco’s is the only OB/GYN office in Marion County which has been inspected by the State of Florida and approved to perform level 2 office surgery. This means our office is able to provide sedation by a board-certified anesthesiologist so that patients can safely have minor procedures performed comfortably and without pain. The procedures that are commonly performed in the office under sedation include endometrial ablation, such as the NovaSure® procedure or Minerva®, dilation and curettage, and hysteroscopy to evaluate abnormal bleeding problems. The advantage this provides is that patients are able to safely and comfortably have minor procedures completed in office that are normally done at the hospital or at a surgical center. By allowing patients to have these procedures performed at our office, they often save considerable expense in facility fees and anesthesia fees which are incurred at those facilities.
