Dr. Loeffel is warm, kind and friendly. She took the time to answer all my questions and was very thorough in her explanation. She is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience. I appreciated her thoughtfulness in addressing my concerns. Overall, my experience with Dr. Loeffel was very positive. However, my wait time in the examining room was quite long and uncomfortable. I do wish that part of the process was more expedient.

Dr. Loeffel is amazing and I have finally found my new gynecologist after trying different doctors for the past 10 years. My gynecologist/obstetrician that delivered my children had retired in 2016 Nd since then I have not been very happy with the different doctors I went to. I will always return to Dr.Loeffel. She is welcoming, humble, down to earth amd absolutely hilarious! She was honest and up front which is something I absolutely appreciate with a side if sarcasm and humor. She made the visit feel like I had known her for years. She listened to my concerns and took prompt action when she felt the breast lumps I had been concerned about. She explained what to expect. Thank you Dr.Loeffel fir being absolutely amazing! You help me feel slightly less scared as I navigate this scary journey.
I love Dr. Loeffel but I waited 45 minutes to be seen and the visit with her felt rushed. There was a lobby filled with people.

She received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Texas. She then completed her Master of Science in medical sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
This San Antonio OBGYN received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She stayed in the city for her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During her residency, Ilanna Loeffel MD completed the Felix Rutledge Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology, a one-month rotation at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Loeffel pursued research experiences during medical school and residency, exploring aspects of everything from laparoscopic surgery to ovarian and cervical cancer. She was the chief resident from 2018 to 2019. She also received the Outstanding Resident Teacher Award in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, this motivated physician received the Ryan Resident Scholarship to pursue additional training in family planning.
Dr. Loeffel has certification in the da Vinci System for robotic gynecologic surgery and certification in Nexplanon insertion and removal.
Dr. Loeffel is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.
