Ever since I was a little girl I have been fascinated by pregnancy and childbirth. I remember telling my mom that someday I was going to deliver babies shortly after my youngest brother was born. I was only 6 years old at the time! By the time I was in high school I decided to follow in my mother’s footsteps and become a nurse but incorporate my love of all things having to do with babies. And thank goodness I did. I love being a midwife.

I felt very comfortable and cared about as a patient. She made sure to answer all of my questions and give me all the information.
Jennifer was great. She's kind and made me feel comfortable.
She is a wonderful provider and makes me feel seen and heard.
She was the first person at this clinic that looked me in the eyes and told me she wanted me to succeed in my VBAC and believed in my ability to do so. She held space for all of my questions, didn't make me feel rushed, and seemed like she genuinely cared for me and my baby. She never once made me feel 'too big' or concerned about anything and it was the first appointment in 4 appointments that I left feel joyful and excited. I left this appointment with the thought 'wow, it would be such a blessing if she was on duty when our baby decides to come earth side.' She was an amazing midwife and was so encouraging.

I enjoy talking to women everyday about what is happening to their bodies and with their baby. I enjoy being with women, which is the meaning of the word “midwife”. Last, I am happy to spend time with women explaining to them the process of labor and helping them to make informed decisions about their birthing experience.
One of the best parts of being a nurse midwife is seeing a woman come in and make progress in labor, empowering her to listen to her body, and then to help her deliver her baby. I feel so blessed to be a part of such an important moment in her life.
Originally from St. Cloud, Minn., I now live in Prior Lake with my husband and three children. We are active with kids activities that include soccer, hockey, softball, and basketball. We enjoy spending time at our cabin near Sauk Center, biking, and playing cards. I love to read.
