Makaya is friendly and knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions, addressed my concerns.
Adore mikaya. She is kind and personable. She sits with her patients making them feel heard. And she was wonderful with my kids.
Mikaya took time to carefully speak with us. Listened to all our questions and did not make us feel rushed at all.
My doctor was mostly worried about keeping me comfortable during my appointment and she did just that! I felt extremely taken care of.

I left this appointment feeling listened to and supported as well as informed on my upcoming birth. I never felt rushed and all of my questions were answered with information that specifically applied to me and my pregnancy instead of just broad answers.
Mikaya Bass is a Certified Nurse Midwife who joined Biltmore OB-Gyn in 2023. She was born and raised in the lovely state of Michigan. Her love and passion for women’s health was inspired by her parents who both work in healthcare – her mother as a nurse practitioner and her father as an OBGYN. She received her nursing degree from Southern Adventist University. Mikaya has worked in a variety of settings as a nurse including the intensive care unit, trauma care unit, and labor and delivery. Working in these different settings allowed her to be well rounded in her nursing career. She went on to obtain my Master’s Degree in Nursing as a Certified Nurse Midwife from East Carolina University.
She is happily married to her high school sweetheart and together we have two dogs, a Labrador Retriever and a Great Pyrenees. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
