Stephen Stamatis, MD, FACOG

Dr. Stephen Stamatis, born in Houston and raised in Tomball, Texas, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine to earn his medical doctorate, and then completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. After completing residency, he and Dr. McBride established their practice in Weatherford in 2007.

Dr. Stamatis is an active member of the medical staff at Weatherford Regional Medical Center. He is known for bringing a high level of personal care to every patient and his dedication and experience are apparent in all of his interactions. Dr. Stamatis is highly skilled in operative laparoscopy, operative hysteroscopy, and pelvic reconstruction surgery. He also has a special interest in sterilization and endometrial ablation performed in the office setting. He places a high priority on individualized, timely, and accurate delivery of comprehensive healthcare services.

He, his wife Allison, and their daughters Lillian, Hazel, Cora and Fern live in Weatherford. They enjoy life outside of the city and enjoy many outdoor activities together including hiking, bicycling, and gardening. Dr. Stamatis supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation and is also an active supporter of many local organizations including Freedom House, which seeks to end abuse and violence through prevention and intervention.

Dr. Stamatis is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is also a member of the American Medical Association and the Texas Medical Association. He is proficient in medical Spanish.

Dr. Stamatis is accepting new patients including new pregnancies, referrals and women seeking gynecological care who have insurance or who pay cash.
