Welcoming front office staff, pulled to the back ahead of appointment time, friendly staff who took me to the back and collected my medical info, doctor was kind, thorough, and knowledgeable. Dr. Tricia Shimer, born in Holland to a military family, spent most of her life in Texas. From a very young age she has had a natural curiosity and interest in the sciences, which led her to Texas A&M University where she graduated in 1993 with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston before completing residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Although North Carolina had plenty of opportunity, she could not wait to return to Texas.
She has worked hard to build a successful practice, starting first in McKinney and then moving to Dallas. Tricia attends the Unity Church of Dallas and enjoys all sports, including snowboarding, wakeboarding, cycling as well as coaching girls’ basketball. Dr. Shimer is passionate about her practice and her patients at Presbyterian of Dallas and looks forward to continually meeting new challenges head on. She is an avid learner who stays current on new medical procedures and breakthroughs, bringing her patients the very best care possible.
Dr. Shimer is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
