I'm extremely happy with the results. I got a tummy tuck and liposuction on my upper back, flanks and outer thighs. In all of the areas I had liposuction I've seen a significant reduction of fat and got the exact results I was looking for. I am so happy I added that on to my tummy tuck. My tummy tuck has been life changing. I am so happy with my results and never though I would have my body back. My scar is very clean and low lying and easily covered up with underwear/swimsuit bottoms. My belly button looks very natural and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Dr Chen does amazing work. I am very pleased with how I look and fit into my clothes. The bellybutton is red but looks very normal. It's deep but it was deep when I was younger. "I was having some complications after the surgery, and Dr. Chen was always available to answer texts and messages and call in medication as needed. I was very appreciative of that as well as my husband."
From the beginning, the personnel were very friendly and helpful. They advised of the consultation appointment procedure and what was required. In the consultation with Dr. Chen, I found him to be very professional but calming, putting me at ease immediately. He explained fully what he would be doing for the surgery I was requesting. Even though I knew he had other patients waiting, he did not make me feel that he was rushed and patiently answered all of my questions to ensure that I fully understood the pros/cons of the surgery being requested.

He was recently voted as “top doc” in facial/plastic surgery by the other physicians in Albuquerque (Albuquerque Magazine 2006).
Dr. Chen’s education included a bachelor degree from Haverford College and a medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He graduated with honors from both institutions. Staying in the Harvard system, he then completed residencies in both general surgery and plastic surgery at the world renowned Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. After serving as chief resident in plastic surgery at MGH, he accepted a highly competitive fellowship at the University of California in Los Angeles. Here, he honed his expertise in hand/microsurgery. His is board certified in plastic surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He also has added qualification in surgery of the hand and is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at UNM Medical School, he enjoys teaching students. He has also devoted his time in performing free surgery for children from Central America and Russia as a volunteer or both the Healing the Children and Interplast programs. He continues to keep on top of the latest information and techniques in plastic surgery in order to offer his patients the best available care.
