I've had several procedures with Dr. Salazar and his team over the years. He is very thorough in explaining the procedure and sets the expectation for the outcome from day one. For this particular procedure - abdominoplasty we discussed a mini or the full. I had just come off of back surgery (ALIF) in January 2025 and saw Dr. Salazar later that year (regarding a follow up from another procedure) and shared with him the awful scar the surgery had left. He had indicated that he could take care of the scar. At that time I was not ready to commit, but did come back in 2026 to consult with him on best options. I was so pleased with how he explained what results I would likely see from the mini vs. the full. I am so happy that I chose to do the full.

Every step of the way of my journey was perfect in every way. They were very professional, kind and thoughtful. I loved that I could call them at any time with any question and that they always answered. My friend and daughter were amazed by how well the procedure turned out.

I was so nervous at how my breast reconstruction surgery would go since it had been 20 years and I wanted to go smaller. But I could not be happier with my results! Dr. Salazar and his team took such good care of me. I was also worried about how I would feel waking up from surgery. I was worried I'd feel sick because the first time I had my breasts done I got super sick from the anesthesia. But after meeting the anesthesiologist and voicing my concerns he assured me I would be okay and waking up from surgery I felt good. So I was very relieved. I love my breast size and that Dr. Salazar reduced my areola size upon my request.

Having dedicated 17 years of his life to achieve the best medical training, Dr. Salazar’s philosophy is centered around providing beautiful results safely and ensuring each and every patient feels well cared for from their first appointment to their last.
In addition to his devotion to staying up-to-date on the latest plastic surgery techniques, Dr. Salazar loves learning about all the new cosmetic technology and devices—though he remains critical of new products until he is sure he has found the safest, most effective options to offer patients.
Dr. Salazar had a passion for plastic surgery from very early on—and he knew as soon as he made the decision to attend medical school that it was the field for him. He earned his medical degree from the University of Baja California where he graduated Summa Cum Laude before completing a general surgery internship at the University of Illinois Metropolitan Group of Hospitals program.
Dr. Salazar finished his full residency in general surgery at the world-renowned Houston Method Hospital. He completed his plastic surgery residency training at the same institution and was then board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
During his residency training in both specialties, Dr. Salazar was Chief Resident. As a result of his multiple research projects in the field of plastic surgery, he has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and has participated in national and international meetings to present his findings.
In addition to being an American Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Salazar is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Board of Plastic Surgery Maintenance of Certification Program, California Society of Plastic Surgeons, San Diego Plastic Surgery Society and the American Medical Association.
When he’s not busy helping LJCSC patients look and feel wonderful, Dr. Salazar enjoys spending time with his wife and son enjoying the city or analyzing the latest techniques in plastic surgery.
