Dr. Maxwell completed her Bachelor’s Degree of Sciences in Pharmacy from the University of New Mexico and also served as a clinical pharmacist for Presbyterian Medical Services, an organization dedicated to providing medical care to under-served communities in New Mexico and Arizona. Afterwards, she completed her Surgery and Plastic Surgery residency training with certificates earned from Michigan State University in Grand Rapids. Here she distinguished herself with honors and served as chief resident in her senior year. She then completed her Fellowship training under the instruction of Dr. Jim Carraway at Eastern Virginia Medical School, after which she entered private practice in Tucson.
Dr. Gwen Maxwell has served as Chief of Plastics at El Dorado Hospital in Tucson, and has been a consultant at Canyon Ranch, the now ten-time winner of Conde Nast Traveler Magazine’s Top Spa Award.
