Dr. Fortes earned his Medical Degree, with honors, at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed his training in Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago and his General Surgery training and residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He also completed a Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, Chicago, where he became their Chief Resident from 1995 to 1998.
Furthermore, Dr. Fortes is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons. He has also achieved recognition for his work, having been named Houston's Top Doctor in Plastic Surgery.
